Allen graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 1978 with his Bachelor of Business Administration and from the University of New Brunswick with his Bachelor of Law in 1985. He joined Whitehead Miles & Allen LLP in 1984. Allen practices in all areas of law particularly family, corporate, litigation, commercial and real estate and has acted as a Federal and Provincial Prosecutor and has appeared in the Federal Court. He has been involved in a number of 3P Projects representing the Province of New Brunswick. He has appeared in the Provincial Court of New Brunswick, the Court of King’s Bench, the Appeal Court of New Brunswick and the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.

Ken graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a B.A. in 2007 and an L.L.B. in 2011. Ken joined Whitehead Miles & Allen LLP in 2011 as an articling student and was called to the bar in 2012. Ken practices in all areas of law including, litigation, property, corporate and commercial, criminal, wills and estates, employment, and bankruptcy and insolvency. He has appeared in the Provincial Court, the Court of King’s Bench and Court of Appeal.

Ken was involved with Big Brothers and Big Sisters for a number of years and Ken currently serves as a Director with Fredericton Regional Youth Services Inc. and Fredericton Sports Investment Inc.
Matthew Pearn
Matthew helps his clients resolve large-loss insurance claims, personal injury, automotive insurance, and disability insurance claims, professional negligence
claims, and complex commercial disputes.
Matthew is Treasurer of the Canadian Bar Association of New Brunswick, helping to train lawyers on legal ethics and legal standards essential to practicing law. He sits on the NB Law Society’s Disciplinary Committee, ensuring licensed lawyers respect their obligations to clients.
Matthew is a member of the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association, the Canadian Media Lawyers Association (‘Ad IDEM’), and the York-Sunbury Law Society. He is a Tribunal Chair under the Mental Health Act, making legal rulings to help people diagnosed with serious mental illness. He is a member and the Rules of Court Revision Committee.
Cassey LaBelle
Originally from the Niagara Region of Ontario, Cassey obtained a Bachelor's degree in Modern Languages from Brock University in 2017. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick in 2020.
Cassey joined Whitehead Miles & Allen LLP in 2019 and completed her articles. She was called to the New Brunswick bar in 2021. Currently, she is building and maintaining a general practice with a primary focus on litigation, corporate, wills and estates and property.

Outside of the office, Cassey enjoys spending time with friends and family and venturing in nature.
Emily Spillett
Emily graduated from Acadia University in 2017 with her Bachelor of Science and from the University of New Brunswick with her Juris Doctor in 2020.
Emily joined Whitehead Miles & Allen LLP in 2020 as an articling student and was called to the New Brunswick Bar in 2021.

Emily currently practices in all areas of law, particularly corporate, litigation, commercial, real estate, wills and estates, and family. She has appeared in the Provincial Court, the Court of King’s Bench and Court of Appeal,
Outside of the office, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends and is an avid fan of board games.
Ian Donihee
Ian graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a B.A. in 2008 and later received a J.D. from the University of New Brunswick in 2021.
In the years between Ian’s B.A. and J.D., he served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 11 years and was awarded the Special Service Medal- Expedition Bar.
Ian joined Whitehead Miles & Allen LLP in 2021 as an articling student and was called to the bar in 2022. Ian currently practices in all areas of law, particularly in real estate, wills and estates, corporate, litigation, commercial and family law.

Outside of the office, Ian enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys.

Allison Whitehead K.C.

Al graduated from St. Thomas University in 1973 with his Bachelor of Arts and from the University of New Brunswick with his Bachelor of Law in 1976. He practiced with Kenny, Jackson & McKee from 1976 until 1978 when he co-founded Calabrese Whitehead, now Whitehead Miles & Allen LLP. Al initially focused his practice on criminal and family law, but he stopped practicing criminal law approximately 15 years ago to focus more on civil litigation, particularly personal injury claims. Al practiced in the areas of family, civil, and probate law. He appeared in the Provincial Court of New Brunswick, the Court of Queen’s Bench, the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court. He also chaired the Employment Standards Tribunal for New Brunswick, the Mental Health Tribunal for Region III Hospital Corporation, the Canadian Pension Review Tribunal, and the New Brunswick Liquor Corporation. He taught at the bar admission course a number of times. Al was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2006.
Al sat on the Board of Directors for Fredericton Sports Investment.
